Lowell Black History Trail self-guided walk (and other great tours!)

October 7, 2023 October 15, 2023 EDT

Explore the City’s newest self-guided walk, the Lowell Black History Trail.

Unveiled by the City in June, markers were installed with information about Lowell’s Black history, and you can follow the tour using Mosaic Lowell’s self-guided map.  Just go to https://mosaiclowell.org/map/, scroll down to “Self Guided Tours” and then select “Lowell Black History Trail”.  Wind your way through the city, reading the markers or just read the information online from the comfort of your couch.  You can also pick up a hardcopy of the tour map at various locations around Lowell, including the Pollard Memorial Library.

Take some of the other self-guided tours too.  The Mosaic map shows the following paths along with related information:

-Acre Walking Tour

-South Common Walking Tour

-WPA Massachusetts 1937 Tour

-Multilingual Poetry Tour

Check out some of the other sites around the city using Mosaic’s map, including restaurants, public art and historical buildings.

Thank you to the many organizations have been involved in putting these tours and other information together.

This event is being promoted as part of the 2023 Lowell City of Learning Festival, which is a project under the fiscal sponsorship of the Greater Lowell Community Foundation.
