12:30-1 PM: PV Powered Rainwater Irrigation System and Vertical Plant Wall Showcases
Support and engage with students, Aidan Brennan, Aidan Corcoran, Alex Fitzler, and Nathan Gere as they present there’s solar powered rainwater harvesting system under the mentorship of Assistant Professor Jasmina Burekand Ph.D candidate Alana Smith from the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department. Join student Mars Orfanos as he presents his vertical plant wall system and nutrient research mentor by Assistant Professor Joy Winbourne from the Environmental, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Department.
1-1:30 PM: Sign Installation & Tree Planting Ceremony
Help make a lasting impact by planting for the future and unveiling new Food Forest signage led by Kevin Block and the UML carpentry and grounds management team to celebrate our shared commitment to this space.
1:45-2:15 PM: Keeping Your Cool on a Warming Planet
Join Assistant Professor Jasmina Burek from the MIE Department for a thoughtful conversation on climate anxiety, followed by a grounding meditation session by Hannah Monbleau from the Office of Student Life and Well-Being to restore balance and hope.
12:30-2:30 p.m. Pizza and Local Produce (while supplies last)
Enjoy a slice of pizza as you explore the Food Forest and take home a bag of delicious, locally grown produce from Mill City Grows.
